Samuel Taylor is an enthusiastic man with a contagious laugh and a mile-wide smile.
A new Wellspring supporter, he recently completed the Seattle-to-Portland Bicycle Classic (“STP”), a distance of more than 200 miles, and dedicated the journey to Wellspring Family Services.
Samuel was introduced to Wellspring at this year's Powerful Change Luncheon. Invited by a friend, he begrudgingly gave up a beautiful day of biking to attend the event but ended up inspired and motivated to generate his own powerful change.
Moved by Wellspring’s work with homeless families and specifically, Hortencia’s story of courage, he decided to integrate his passion for biking with his marketing experience to fundraise for Wellspring. By sending out letters to friends, family, and supporters, he was able to raise $5,700 to support Wellspring programs, including our Early Learning Center!
When asked what inspired Samuel to finish his first STP so quickly, he flashed a big smile and said, “there were two things that kept me going: the friendships I developed with my teammates, and the outpouring of support I received to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families from the seat of my bike.”
